Kelli Chop
RYT 500 HR
Kelli began studying how anatomy and movement effect daily life skills when receiving a degree in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She has spent the majority of her OT career working in early intervention with children from birth to 3 years old along with their families. After raising her own 3 children, she later began a regular vinyasa yoga practice. This led her to wanting to go deeper into understanding the meaning of yoga beyond the physical practice. She completed her 200 RYT to become a certified yoga teacher. During this training is where she was first introduced to Ashtanga yoga. This is when Ashtanga found Kelli and it became her regular practice. She went on to complete her 300 RYT at Maya Yoga with an emphasis in Ashtanga. She continues to have a regular Mysore practice and also enjoys breathwork and meditation. She has also received training in Vipassana meditation via their 10 day course.
Kelli has much gratitude and respect for the lineage of Ashtanga and all those that have passed down this beautiful practice. She wants her students to respect their body while also moving beyond the limits of their mind. She aims to instill breathing techniques that can assist to provide calmness and focus both on and off the mat.
